Streak for the Cash: March 20th

How many points will Carmelo Anthony score in the 1st half: (10 Points or Fewer) or (11 Points or More)
The Knicks have played the 76ers twice this season (both at MSG), in those two games he averaged 24.5 (12.25 per half).  On the year, Melo is averaging 18.7 points per game.  Divide that by two and you get 9.35 per half.  Since Mike D'Antoni left, Melo's scoring production has decreased.  In the four games that Mike Woodson has coached, Melo averaged 15.3 PPG (7.7 per half).  As I mentioned, Melo is averaging 24.5 against the Sixers this year.  I think those stats should be somewhat ignored.  The Sixers have the best defense (statistically) and it was only two games and both were played at MSG.  So in the end, all of these numbers mean take 10 points or fewer.  Pick: 10 Points or Fewer (Confidence: 4/5)

Who will win: Los Angeles Lakers or Dallas Mavericks
I usually like to start out these previews with how Vegas thinks.  Today, the spread is at 4.5 points in favor of Dallas.  These two teams have met twice this year with the Lakers winning both games.  However, the Lakers are on a two-game losing streak while the Mavs have been hot, winning the last four.  Dallas has also won five straight home games.  Also, the Mavs will have an extra day's rest (take it for what it is worth).  Pick: Dallas (Confidence: 3/5)
