Higher Total: Iowa (Free Throws Made or Tie) or Michigan State (Winning Margin)
Iowa is coming off a nice win in the first round of the Big 10 Tournament against Illinois. However, it isn't that impressive considering it was only a 3-point win against a team who finished the season losing 8 of 9. Now they are faced with a great Michigan State team who has had an extra day's rest. The Spartans smacked around the Hawkeyes in the first meeting, winning 95-61. A 34-point victory in a game where Iowa made 11 free throws. Despite Michigan State losing the last two games, I expect a blow-out victory from Sparty. Will it be more than the amount of free throws made from the Hawkeyes? Well the Hawkeyes average 15.9 free throws made per game. In their last three games, they have been averaging 13.3 per contest. Michigan State is 11-point favorites in this one. So it looks like you should pick Iowa, right? No. Michigan State is rested up and should have a convincing win of over 15 points. Pick: Michigan State (Confidence: 3/5)
Higher Total: Alabama (Three Pointers Made) or Florida (Winning Margin)
Alabama won their first SEC Tournament game yesterday, defeating an awful South Carolina team by a score of 63-57. In that game, Bama only made a single three pointer. On the other hand, Florida had the day off and is rested up for Alabama. When these two teams met earlier in the season, 61-52 in Tuscaloosa. In the defeat, the Tide made four from behind the arc. The Tide average just a hair over four three pointers per game. This one should be easy money. Pick: Florida (Confidence: 4/5)
